The Afghan Turkman Carpet is a double-knotted, handmade woolen masterpiece crafted by the Turkman people of Faryab, Afghanistan. This exquisite style, one of the oldest and finest Afghan carpets, is woven with Turkish knots on a horizontal loom. Known for its short pile and vibrant colors, the carpet uses vegetable-dyed lamb wool.
Renowned for its durability, the Afghan Turkman Carpet comes in various designs, including Bukhara, Diamond, and Ghaab, often featuring a red background with accents of orange and navy blue. The fringe is typically in dark tones, and the carpets are available in a range of sizes, from small rugs to larger pieces up to 4x3 meters, as well as runners from 1.5 to 10 meters in length.
